Some of the stories from the “Maine Summertime Stories” event held at the Alamo Theatre in Bucksport last week, cosponsored by WERU-FM, Wednesdays on Main and Northeast Historic Films/Alamo Theatre. Local storytellers featured today: Arielle Greenberg, Jonathan Fulford, Nolan Ellsworth, Sandra Dillon and Cara Oleksyk. Amy Browne emceed. (Part 2 will air on 8/17/16)

Today we pay our monthly visit to the “Queen City Cellar Tellers” storytelling event in Bangor. This month the theme was “Ghost Stories” and the featured nonprofit was the Bangor Historical Society

This week we have our monthly installment from the local storytelling scene, as we return to “Queen City Cellar Tellers” in Bangor. On the 3rd Friday evening of each month “Juice Cellar” owner Chris Roberts and his partner Renee Johnson invite the public to tell stories with a pre-selected theme associated with an area non-profit they are highlighting. This month the non-profit was Maine Farmland Trust and the theme was preservation.

Today we’re bringing you to a new monthly storytelling event in Bangor. “Queen City Cellar Tellers” is organized by Renee Johnson and Chris Roberts. Roberts is the owner of the Juice Cellar where the event will be held on the 3rd Friday evening of each month. Each month the program will have a different theme and highlight a local nonprofit. This edition, recorded on July 17th, 2015 featured “Sustainable Harvest International” and the theme was “transformation”

“Bucksport: How It Was and How It Is” – a story telling event sponsored by the Bucksport Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and WERU at the Alamo Theatre on July 8th. The event was part of “Wednesday on Main” which aims to “bring fun, energy and joy to Main St. In Bucksport Wednesdays from 5pm till 7pm thru the summer.”

Today we’re bringing you to the debut of a new monthly storytelling event in Bangor. “Queen City Cellar Tellers” is organized by Renee Johnson and Chris Roberts. Roberts is the owner of the Juice Cellar where the event will be held on the 3rd Friday evening of each month. Each month the program will have a different theme and highlight a local nonprofit. At the debut on June 19th the theme was “best friends” and the spotlight was on the Bangor Humane Society.
