So what do you think about Google Glass which, among other things, allows wearers of this eyeglass mounted tech to take photos and videos of anything the wearer looks at by simply blinking an eye? Have you seen the Academy Award winning movie “Her?” Pretty cool, eh? Sure it’s a love story first but underneath the surface, there is a question that we more and more have to think about as technology advances quickly, and our ethics and laws don’t keep pace. “Her” offers us an opportunity to think about the relationship between the technology we create, and ourselves.

The Academy Awards are over and movies steeped in special effects and animation were big winners. Where were all those visual effects created? Increasingly, the answer is “not here.” The web has made it possible for call centers or tech support centers to be anywhere in the world. Now it is making it possible to outsource artistic and professional jobs as well. Are we thinking about what this could mean for economy and our daily lives? We’d better.
