Description: Climate & Community speaks with Raney Bench, Executive Director of the Mount Desert Island Historical Society, about “Landscape of Change”, a nationally-recognized collaboration between the Historical Society, Schoodic Institute, the MDI Biological Laboratory, A Climate to Thrive, Acadia National Park, and College of the Atlantic that documents the scope, scale and speed of climate change on Mount Desert Island, and allows community members to develop a common understanding of the impacts on the place they call home. Johannah, Brianna, Tanvi, Gus, Corey, and Beth are the team at A Climate to Thrive, a nonprofit working to build a model of community-driven, solutions-focused climate action. Since its origins around a potluck table as concerned neighbors gathered to take action on climate change, A Climate to Thrive, or ACTT, has been supporting solutions on Mount Desert Island and beyond since 2016.
