An interview with Marty Kelly, Director of the “Voices for Peace”, based out of the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine, featuring some of the music they will be performing a concert “Singing the Circle Whole” at The Brick Church, on Union St. Bangor, March 27, 2010 at 7pm.

“Voices for Peace” will be joined by special featured artist, Gina Holsopple from Oswego, New York, will round out the program with some of her original songs.  Holsopple, a NYC performer, has released 6 albums and won the New Song Contest at the Walnut Valley Festival in Kansas in 2009. The proceeds from this concert will benefit the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine. For 20 years the Center has provided resources, programs and activities to create awareness and inspire grassroots involvement in nonviolent social change.. Donations  ($10 suggested, children under 12 free) will help further the work of creating a more just and peaceful world. peacectr.org  Voices for Peace has performed with Women With Wings, Rob Shetterly and his portraits of Americans Who Tell the Truth, Gordon Bok in “Another Land Made of Water” and for numerous congregations and organizations, including a recent benefit for The Open Door Recovery Center in Ellsworth.

Voices for Peace is an inclusive group of people who come together to sing the message of love, peace, hope and justice.  Singers and musicians come from the Greater Bangor Area and as far away as Belfast, Bucksport and Mt.
